Mission
The KPD Peer Support Program provides confidential,
voluntary assistance to law enforcement personnel and their
families. Our mission is to reduce stigma around mental
health support in police culture while providing immediate,
accessible resources for officers in need.
Why It Matters
Peer-to-Peer Support
Voluntary, confidential one-on-one check-ins following critical incidents, personal crises, or chronic fatigue. Supporters are sworn & civilian members trained in stress awareness, active listening, and crisis protocols
Critical Incident & Trauma Response
Rapid team activation post-shootings, major traffic fatalities, or on-duty trauma. Mirroring Odessa and Rowlett PD models, we focus on mindfulness, emotional stabilization, and circulation to professional resources
Resiliency & Wellness Workshops
Group sessions covering stress management, suicide prevention, emotional intelligence, and peer support skills. Program content draws from national guidelines including Texas Law Enforcement Peer Network (TLEPN) and IACP Psych-Peer Support frameworks.
Remember: Strength in Solidarity. Every outreach matters. Whether you're seeking support, offering it, or helping us grow—your action builds a stronger, healthier KPD. Stand strong. Speak up. Heal together. Sources

Confidential Conversations —Anytime, Anywhere
Peer supporters are accessible around the
clock, providing a confidential, judgment-free space for officers and staff to talk through stressors—big or small. Whether facing the aftermath of a difficult call, work-life pressures, or personal struggles, our team is here to listen and help
By Officers,
For Officers.
Every peer supporter is a fellow
officer or staff member who understands the unique
pressures of law enforcement. This shared experience
fosters empathy and trust—offering support from someone
who “gets it” and has walked a similar path
Everyday Peer Support
Peer support isn’t just for crises. Our
team is present for day-to-day challenges—whether it’s dealing with cumulative stress, family issues, or simply needing someone to talk to.
Support During and After Critical Incidents
When a critical incident occurs, peer supporters are available to meet with affected personnel—offering a safe space to process emotions, ask questions, and begin healing.
